Busy Busy Busy!

Thu Apr 9, 2009, 12:34 AM
I'm trying not to go nuts these days.

A) Working almost non-stop for Marvel Adventures (YEEE! I hope I'm improving a bit issue after issue. I just can't like my pages yet and I feel they lack personality in lines but all this work will lead me somewhere)
B) Moving to a new house. (I still don't have a table nor the pc at home. All my books are missing, fornitures, clothes... There is still so much to do and I don't have the time beacause of the tight schedule for Marvel)
C) A new ongoing gig for Marvel Adventures ( I'd better wait to announce what it is exactly) will keep me working VERY tight till october. Thus meaning I'll barely have the time to build all those Ikeas that are waiting in their boxes, looking at me with a sad look every morning I pass past them.

A+B+C= does not compute... kill kill kill

After Marvel Adventures: the Avengers #34 I'm finishing 16 pages for Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes #12 starring Captain America vs Hydra and I hope I'd have half week at least to buld things... It seems it's not going to happen. :)

Sorry for all this whining, don't get me wrong, I'm actually DAMN HAPPY about everything but a bit frustrated with all these big things happening at the same time making me feel I don't have time to breath.

Updates!

Hi everyone,
I'm back after a full work immersion followed by a short trip to UK!

I'm sorry for the lack of updates but after Marvel Adventures: Iron Man #13, I was very busy with schedules: I finished 3 new Marvel adventures books.

- Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes #6 (Ant-Man origins! Out in December i think )

- Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four #40 (just 11 pages, the second story with Ben and Johnny and a slime, OUT NOW)

- Marvel Adventures: Avengers #30 (feat. Tigra, out October 15) EDITED: I'm sorry but it seems my issue was switched from #29 to #30.

As usual I'm not satisfied at all on the outcome. I'm getting a bit better but I'm far from what I feel I can do. the last 2 issues were rushed cause of the close deadline but that's not an excuse.

I hope to become a better artist and to finish a comicbook that I still like to look at even after it's completed and printed.

Cheers mates!

A good work, a big delusion.

I never wrote about it but on december 2006 I signed a contract with one of the biggest french comic editor "Les Humanoides Associes" for a comic book called "Ailes de Cuir" (Leather Wings) written by Luca Enoch, drawn by me and colored by Andres Mossa (I’m adding some sample pages to my gallery).

That was a dream come true for me: my first gig, my first published comic book, and maybe a future.

Too good to be true, the editor went through hard times. My project (as many others) was officially stopped while I was still working on page 37 (out of 46) of 1st tome.

When it all went down the drain I was so deluded in spirit and so in trouble financially that I decided to give up the utopic idea of drawing for a living.

But finally... Marvel, and I’m living the dream right now. I just hope it will be a long road.

ChesterQuest FTW!!!

Fri May 30, 2008, 3:01 PM
After years of hopes, unlucky moments and big delusions (I'll write about this next time) I was thinking of giving up with art to find another job. Such a sad story, please don't cry yet.

But then one day...

...I heard there was a worldwide contest from Marvel to find 20 new artists: the ChesterQuest.

I submitted something (with ZERO expectations) but a lucky star shone on me somehow: I'm one of the winners!!!! I really can't believe it!

So right now I'm working for Marvel and my first published work is in the shops NOW!! and it's from MARVEL!!!!!!! ok you can cry now!

Marvel Adventures Iron Man #13

I'm so happy and thrilled about this opportunity.
I'll post some pencil pages soon, I promise, but as always when I look back at my work I don't like it very much anymore.

It was made in a hurry (20-25 days) because I think I had to substitute another artist.

Now I'm working on Marvel Adventures Super Heroes: Ant Man #5 (quite a long title, isn't it?) and I hope I'll do a better job with it.

From zero to MARVEL... can't believe it, my head spins...

Ciao!

My first Journal Entry

Fri May 30, 2008, 9:31 AM
Hello everyone,
I don't know if someone will actually read this but this is my first attemp at writing a journal entry since when I subscribed to DA.

I'm sorry with my lack of updates and most of all for not having thanked/answered to anyone who favved or commented my works lately. I've been quite busy but that's not an excuse, so please forgive me.

In the next entries I'll explain a bit what happened round here, so stay tuned!!
